How to make your balayage last longer

Toners, washing habits and the one product our colorists swear by to stretch balayage to 12 weeks and beyond.

Balayage is designed to grow out softly, which is exactly why clients love it. With the right routine, most of our balayage clients come back every 10 to 14 weeks instead of every six.

Wash less, and cooler

Hot water opens the cuticle and lets toner fade faster. Wash two or three times a week with lukewarm water and a sulfate-free shampoo.

Book a gloss between visits

A 30-minute gloss refreshes tone and shine halfway between lightening appointments, without touching your roots.

  • Use a purple or blue toning mask once a week
  • Always use heat protection
  • Sleep on silk to reduce friction
