How much should I feed my dog? A simple portion guide

Weight, age and activity all change the right portion. Here is how to work it out and when to adjust.

The feeding chart on the bag is a starting point, not a rule. Two dogs of the same weight can need very different amounts depending on age, activity and whether they are neutered.

Weigh, do not scoop

A kitchen scale is the easiest upgrade you can make. Scoops vary a lot, and a few extra grams a day adds up over a year.

Check the body, not the bowl

You should be able to feel your dog's ribs without pressing hard and see a waist from above. Adjust portions by about 10% and recheck after two weeks.
