Flu shot season: who should get vaccinated and when

The best time to get your flu shot, who needs it most and what to expect afterwards.

A yearly flu shot is the simplest way to protect yourself and the people around you. Early autumn is ideal, so you are protected before flu starts spreading widely.

Who should get one

  • Everyone aged six months and older
  • Especially adults over 65
  • Pregnant patients
  • Anyone with asthma, diabetes or heart disease

What to expect

A sore arm for a day or two is common. Our walk-in vaccination sessions run every Tuesday and Saturday, with no appointment needed.
